this is some of holly fulton’s spring/summer 2010 collection, shown at London Fashion Week. inspired by art deco, new york, jeanne moreau in the bride wore black and the robotic girls in Robert Palmer’s ‘Addicted to Love’ film clip- total inspiration for my upcoming ‘fiji wardrobe’ sewing day with nan. i love the geometric prints, the heavy jewellery and the fact that there’s no fucking pastel in sight. xx

I saw Florence and the Machine at Laneway Festival on Saturday and holy shit that girls got it. The whole set completely exceeded all expectations. I had shivers the whole time. Jumping up and down to ‘Dog Days’, singing along with my friends,being all high and shit. Best ever. Flo and the Mac are playing again on Wednesday night- seriously considering making the effort. Also a highlight at Laneway were The XX- particularly their cover of one of my top 25, Womack&Womack’s ‘Teardrops’. Dappled Cities and their gold jumpsuits also blinded the shit out the pit. Flo was the perfect way to end the day though- those legs, that hair, that voice. Knowing I’d just seen the new love of my life made the sardine packed terror trawl train ride back to city all the more worth it. xx
I have an obsessive personality so when I first saw pics of Yasmin Sewell on The Sartorialist, I got top billing OBSESSED. I began relentlessly scouring the internet and old Vogue magazines to find out everything I could about this Australian fashion prodigy. Not only is she smokin’ (and no Andy- she’s not Indian), owned her own boutique (Yasmin Cho), and been a buyer for Brown’s, she now has top job as creative consultant for high end store, Liberty in the UK. All this without even finishing high school. Boyish blazers by day, backless dresses by night, this girl knows how to mix high end fashion with pieces by up and coming designers. YS is a huge fan of ACNE, TV, Christopher Kane and is responsible for injecting charisma back into the SABA label with help from the Scott Schumann-shot campaign in 2009. As a Style Counsel presenter on FASHIONAIR, she’ll even give you some tips. And just so you know how Sewell-stalker I am- I hear she holidays in Italy…..
